Franciscan Health Lafayette in collaboration with Mental Health America, Wabash Valley Region, will be holding a two-day Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training or ASIST, suicide prevention workshop in December.

The workshop is scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 9 and Wednesday, Dec. 10 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day at the Mental Health American Wabash Valley Region office, 914 South St. in in Lafayette. Participants must attend both days. Lunch will be provided each day.

ASIST teaches participants to recognize when someone may have thoughts of suicide and work with them to create a plan that will support their immediate safety.
