It’s time for new stars to emerge.

Eight of the 15 players on the All-Monroe County Region boys basketball team for 2024-25 were seniors.

They have graduated.

Three more who made that team are not playing this winter.

Jha Jha Hornbeak of Summerfield and Cyrus Goins of Flat Rock – transferred to other schools and St. Mary Catholic Central’s Brady Hines didn’t come out for basketball.

Jefferson’s Trey Oldenburg, Aidyn Stahr of Airport, Summerfield’s Brody St. John and Landon Tallady of Milan are the only returning All-Region players.

But that doesn’t mean there is a dearth of talent.

You just might not know the names yet.
