The National Weather Service issued a winter storm warning at 4:01 a.m. on Tuesday valid from 7 a.m. until Wednesday 1 a.m. for Fulton, Saratoga, Schenectady, Albany, Rensselaer, Greene, Ulster, Warren and Washington counties.
"Total snow accumulations between 6 and 9 inches, with higher amounts of 9 to 12 inches in the southern Green Mountains of Vermont," can be expected according to the weather service. "Moderate to heavy snow will impact the evening commute today. Snowfall rates of 0.5' to 1' are expected and may exceed 1' per hour in some areas. Caution is advised for all motorists."
