The Compton begins

taking reservations

The Compton, an independent hotel project in Bentonville developed by Blue Crane, an arm of The Runway Group founded by Tom and Steuart Walton, is accepting reservations.

The 142-room hotel at 200 E. Central Ave. is on Bentonville's downtown square next door to Dave Peel Park.

Amenities in the hotel, opening Tuesday afternoon, will include The Eddy bar and Sestina restaurant, along with meeting and event spaces and services for outdoor enthusiasts and the mountain biking community.

The project is named to honor preservationist Dr. Neil Compton, a physician from Bentonville who battled to keep what would be later named the Buffalo National River from being dammed by the United States U.S. Corps of Engineers. The river was named the nation's Americ
