ASHEVILLE - An Asheville man charged with murder after city police officers discovered a homicide scene near Biltmore Village is now facing an added rape charge following new forensic evidence.

Douglas Michael Stroupe, 32, was charged with first-degree rape on Nov. 26 and served with the open warrant while in Buncombe County Detention Facility custody, according to his arrest warrant and a Dec. 1 news release from the Asheville Police Department.
