Look behind the scenes, behind the 911 phones

Behind every police car and fire truck is a member of the Monroe County Central Dispatch . These men and women sit at their desks, receiving calls and directing emergency response units, for sometimes 12 hours at a time at all times of day.

The Monroe New was given the opportunity to sit in on a shift at dispatch to see what the workday is like for these usually-unseen public safety contributors.
