SACRAMENTO, California — Robert Godinez, a 53-year-old from Hayward, has been sentenced to 13 years in prison for drug trafficking offenses, including possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and heroin. The sentencing was handed down by U.S. District Judge Dale A. Drozd, according to U.S. Attorney Eric Grant.

On August 30, 2019, law enforcement officers conducted a traffic stop on Godinez after he purchased methamphetamine and heroin from a dealer in Stockton. A search of his vehicle revealed two pounds of methamphetamine and approximately half a pound of heroin. During the prosecution, Godinez submitted false declarations to the district court and lied to the probation officer, resulting in an obstruction of justice sentencing enhancement, stated the U.S. Attorney's Office.
