EVANS, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Columbia County’s first freestanding emergency room is set to serve its first patients on Tuesday morning.

The new ER will open to the public at 7 a.m. on North Belair Road.

Last month, health care leaders cut the ribbon on the new space , expanding medical services in Columbia County.

The 10,860-square-foot facility features 11 private rooms and one trauma bay. The emergency room is licensed by the state of Georgia and staffed 24/7 by trained emergency physicians.
