As she hikes along the Lower Beskid mountains in Poland, Barbara Olpinski looks at the peaks and lets out a contented sigh, feeling as though she’s found her place at last.

Originally from New Jersey, Barbara has become more active than ever since she and her husband, Marian, a Polish native, moved to the European destination five years ago. The couple spend much of their time exploring the country’s trails and old churches.

When they’re not hiking, they’re often exploring by car. They recently managed to cross into three countries in one day, heading to Romania for breakfast, stopping in Hungary, then having dinner in Slovakia before returning to Poland.
