An Akron mother had to put her son's name on an angel ornament this holiday season after he was shot and killed seven months ago.
Yvette McIntyre-Allen joined other grieving area residents Dec. 1 for the Victim Assistance Program's 31st annual Angel Tree ceremony.
"It's bittersweet," she said. "I didn't even know this existed until the passing of my son. It's emotional but I want to try to make it here every year to support my son as well as other victims. It's so beautiful for all of us to be able to get together and share the love we have for our loved ones."
McIntyre-Allen's son, 24-year-old Ontario Bradley, was found with a gunshot wound to the torso in Goodyear Heights near the 600 block of Darrow Road. Martinez Williams, 31, of Kent, is charged with murder in Bradley's death.
