Traffic signal timing technology that University of Michigan researchers are hoping will help cut down on congestion and waiting at red lights is expected to be installed at up to 40 metro Detroit intersections during the next few months.
The system uses artificial intelligence and vehicle Global Positioning System data. It also is one more example of automotive mobility technology that the state has been seeking to promote in recent years.
