A Waterloo family doctor has been cleared of a professional misconduct allegation.
Dr. Sameh Adly Fikry had been accused of sexually abusing a female patient on an examination table.
The patient alleged he caressed her breasts and inserted one or two fingers in her vagina.
Fikry denied the allegations, which date back to 2012.
The Ontario Physicians and Surgeons Discipline Tribunal last week cleared him of professional misconduct, saying there was no “clear and convincing evidence” that he sexually abused the patient.
In 2019, the discipline tribunal suspended Fikry’s certificate of registration for two months after he was found to have committed professional misconduct in his comments to a female patient.
