After a weekend marked by heavy snowfall—and with more expected in the coming days—Indiana State Police are urging drivers to take extra precautions on the roads.
Sgt. Jeremy Piers emphasized the importance of preparing your vehicle before heading out in winter conditions. He recommends stocking your car with essentials such as blankets, a warm jacket, food, and water in case you become stranded without heat for an extended period.
Piers also warned drivers not to flag down passing vehicles if they spin off the road. Instead, he advised calling the police for assistance, noting that stepping into traffic or approaching other cars can create dangerous situations for both motorists and responders.
