THE “repressive” UK Government has been called out by 18 organisations ahead of the conclusion of Palestine Action’s judicial review against Labour’s terrorism ban.
A joint letter from groups such as the Campaign Against Arms Trade and the European Legal Support Centre said Britain’s ban on the direct action group was the most draconian move against pro-Palestine campaigners “so far”.
It said that now was a “dark time for democracy” and that Labour’s unprecedented ban on the protest group marked a “deeply oppressive moment for those of us who take action against the arms trade and against complicity in genocide and mass and structural violence”.
