Public Health Scotland (PHS) confirmed that for the week ending November 23 the infection rate stood at 14.5 people per 100,000, jumping from 10 per cent last week. In the same period, people being admitted to hospital has also increased from 279 to 391, with test positivity, rising from 11.0 per cent to 15.8 per cent.
NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde reported 272 flu cases in the week ending November 23, - an 18 per cent spike increase on the previous week when 230 cases were recorded. The health board has been telling patients to treat themselves at home and to avoid A&E. GP practices in the region have been sending out texts and some parents have received a letter from the heath board via their children's schools, saying the A&E department at the Royal Hospital
