An elderly New Hampshire man was killed when his car crashed into a utility pole Monday, dropping live wires right on the vehicle.
Pelham police and fire responded to a report of a single-vehicle crash on Keyes Hill Road shortly before 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Arriving officers found a gray Lincoln MKZ with heavy damage that had struck and severed a utility pole.

There were wires down on the vehicle, which made rescue efforts difficult. Police called the electric company and asked them to cut power to the area so first responders and an off-duty Massachusetts firefighter who were at the scene could access the vehicle.
