A young Edinburgh Taekwondo star recently became world champion after competing in Croatia. Amy McNair, 20, first became interested in the sport when she was four and has carried it on for 16 years.
She trains at South Queensferry School of Taekwondo and moved there after staying at her first club for a number of years. Speaking to Edinburgh Live, she said the sport feels like an "escape" and she is proud of her achievements.
The 20-year-old became the world champion in the special technique category which includes five different jumping kicks at various different heights up to 2.7meters.
There were 53 countries competing at the championships and she was the only female competitor to hit all five techniques.
