A 27-year-old man has been arrested as the suspect in a Monday morning shooting that killed a man and woman in the parking lot at Tempe Marketplace.

Benjaman Visser Jr. was arrested in connection with the 9 a.m. Dec. 1 shooting at Little Caesars, police said.

Shaquille Simmons, 32, and Mary Visser, 21, the suspect’s wife, were taken to a hospital but did not survive their injuries.

Officers were in the area of Rural and Guadalupe roads when they heard shots, and they found Visser with a gun in his hand, according to a Tempe Police Departmen
