If you’ve been on the fence about digging out your Big Coat and all your Michigan-hardy weather gear, here’s your sign. An Arctic cold blast is going to sweep through Michigan late Wednesday and early Thursday. And it’s going to usher in the coldest air of the season so far, forecasters say.

High temperatures on Thursday won’t even reach 20 degrees in some places in Michigan’s interior, though spots along the Great Lakes coastlines will stay just a few degrees warmer.

Overnight lows Thursday are forecast to drop into the teens and single digits.

Sub-zero wind chills are expected Thursday night across southern Michigan.
