The United Kingdom is expecting a 21-hour period of intense snowfall starting on December 15 . Initial weather predictions indicate the snow will first affect Scotland before slowly moving towards the south.

The heaviest snowfall is scheduled to hit several northern areas early in the morning. By 9 am, the Galloway Forest Park, the Lake District, and the Pennines are forecasted to experience the highest accumulation.
