Now nearly a decade old, downtown Flagstaff’s alternative to the traditional shopping experience in the days following Thanksgiving continues on, even as the bustling early-morning hours of Black Friday have waned with the rise of online shopping.

Though deals for national retailers have continued to go live earlier and earlier each year -- culminating in Black Friday sales being available weeks before the day itself -- around 30 of downtown Flagstaff’s businesses participated in Slack Friday, Small Business Saturday and Cider Monday, which are organized by the Downtown Business Alliance (DBA).

Downtown Flagstaff set for multiple events ahead of the holiday season

Before Christmas takes over, multiple local businesses will be participating in a variety of post-Thanksgiving offerings.
