The Louisville metro remains under a winter weather advisory Dec. 2 as the first significant snowfall event of the 2025-26 winter season blows through the area.

Louisville metro area residents received 2-3 inches of snow overnight, according to reports shared with the National Weather Service. Lexington residents saw about 1.5 inches of snow and Frankfort had 2 inches by the morning of Dec. 2.

Jefferson County Public Schools are closed Dec. 2 due to the inclement weather, district leaders announced . Students have will have nontraditional instruction, or NTI, instead.
