AURORA, Colo. (KKTV) - Two people in a stolen car were killed while trying to flee from police in Aurora.

Officers spotted the car -- which had been stolen out of Fort Collins over the weekend -- in an Aurora neighborhood late Monday morning. When they tried to stop the vehicle, police say the driver sped off. Police followed after and say that in less than a minute, that chase was over -- with the driver and passenger dead.

“The officers were having a hard time keeping safely keeping up with the suspect due to his speed and erratic driving behavior, which resulted in the deadly crash,” Cmdr. Justin Shipley with the Aurora Police Department told 11 News sister station CBS Denver.
