Harlan Coben admits that he “spiralled” when he accidentally came across the inspiration for Netflix’s next thriller Run Away.

Run Away creator Harlan Coben has thanked his daughter for “misbehaving” as she helped to inspire the Netflix drama.

Based on the best-selling 2019 book of the same name, Run Away revolves around Simon Greene (played by James Nesbitt ), a happy family man whose life turns into chaos when his daughter Paige (Ellie de Lang) abruptly leaves home.

Six months pass until he sees Paige again, only to find that she’s now a homeless drug addict and this brief reconciliation leads to an outburst of “shocking violence”.

But what is it going to take to get his beloved daughter back on the right path before it’s too late?
