SUMTER, S.C. —
Authorities in Sumter, South Carolina, are looking to identify a man after shots were fired near a public park.
The Sumter Police Department said about 2:30 p.m. Monday shots were fired near a public park in the area of Purdy Street and South Guignard Drive.
They said the shots were fired toward people gathered outside of a nearby apartment complex.
According to police, the unknown shooter then left the area before officers arrived.
No injuries were reported.

The investigation is continuing, and officers are working to identify a person captured by video surveillance in the area at about the time of the shooting.
