A killer dad who shook his baby daughter so hard she suffered brain injuries and went blind will spend longer behind bars.

Thomas Holford was jailed for life, with a minimum term of 16 years, after being convicted of murdering five-week-old Everleigh Stroud.

Everleigh had been left alone with her dad when she was shaken with 'excessive and severe' force.

She suffered brain and bone injuries at the hands of her father before she died in hospital.

The Solicitor General Ellie Reeves referred Holford’s sentence to the Court of Appeal in September under the Unduly Lenient Sentence scheme.
