bp has withdrawn its plans for a blue hydrogen facility at Teesworks. This is the full text of its letter to the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero:
"I am writing to formally withdraw the application for an Order granting Development Consent for H2Teesside (H2T), which was submitted on 25 March 2024.
"This decision has not been taken lightly and is based on material and significant changes in circumstances in respect to options for the development of the Teesworks site compared to the position at the time of submission of the H2T DCO application and at the start of the Examination.
