Ross Barkley has been ruled out for an extended period after suffering a knee injury on Sunday
Aston Villa boss Unai Emery has delivered a blow by confirming that Ross Barkley faces at least two months on the sidelines through injury. The midfielder was withdrawn in the 88th minute of Villa's 1-0 triumph over Wolves , having entered the fray just 13 minutes prior as a replacement for Youri Tielemans.
Subsequent medical examinations have shown that Barkley has sustained a knee sprain, which proves more severe than first thought and will rule him out for a considerable spell.
Additionally, Tyrone Mings won't feature in Villa's away fixture at Brighton on Wednesday evening as he remains on the road to recovery from a hamstring problem. READ MORE : Harvey Elliott transfer 'decision
