WASHINGTON — Fans of "Stranger Things" will have a choice between the couch and the cinema for the final chapter of the hit series.
Netflix announced that the Season 5 finale , a feature-length, two-hour episode, will debut in select theaters across the U.S. and Canada at the same same time it becomes available to stream, marking an unusual theatrical play for the streaming giant.
Limited screenings of "Stranger Things 5: The Finale" will begin Wednesday, Dec. 31, at 5 p.m. Pacific in more than 350 theaters.
The simultaneous release means viewers can experience the final trip to Hawkins either at home or on the big screen with an audience. The screenings are extremely limited, only running Dec. 31 and Jan. 1, creating what Netflix and theaters hope will be a communal sendoff to one o
