It started out as a traffic stop.

New Castle County Police patrol officers conducted a vehicle stop around midnight on Monday, November 24, 2025, on a pick up truck that was in Canby Park after hours.

Police said during the stop, the officers developed probable cause to order the driver, identified as 25-year old Luqmann Khan, out of the vehicle. According to police he refused to comply and resisted arrest, but was eventually taken into custody.

Upon their initial investigation of the interior of the vehicle police said they found the following items:

Loaded Glock .357 handgun

Micro Conversion Kit for a Glock handgun

Four loaded 27-round extended magazines

Ballistic hard plate (body armor)

Binoculars, Laptop, Composition Notebook
