One of San Antonio’s most popular ramen chains has quietly pulled off a threepeat. Hoka Hoka Fuku Japanese Kitchen debuted its third restaurant at 10222 Huebner Rd #102, bringing Japanese street fare to a new shop on the Northwest Side.

Chef Andy Bunto opened his first restaurant near Helotes in September 2021, serving much-needed comfort food in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic. He followed up with a second outpost on Bandera Road in November 2024.

Noodles are at the heart of the menu. Hoka Hoka serves nine styles of ramen, including three varieties with tonkotsu broth, a yuzu-scented mazesoba (brothless) bowl, and tsukemen (dipping) ramen. The counter service joint also dishes out udon topped with tempura vegetables, karaage, or beef.
