Syracuse, N.Y. ― Syracuse’s game against Tennessee on Tuesday night will mark the return of Rick Barnes to the JMA Wireless Dome.

Of course, it was the Carrier Dome back when Barnes was the head coach at Providence College from 1988 to 1994.

Last week in Las Vegas, I had a chance to chat with Barnes after Tennessee’s win over Rutgers. It was a full-circle moment for both of us.

Barnes’ first year at Providence was also my first year as the Syracuse beat reporter for the Post-Standard.
