A 33-year-old man accused of forcing his way into a Suffolk woman’s home while she was bathing her children and raping her has been cleared by a jury.

Giving evidence during his trial at Ipswich Crown Court, Daniel Green claimed the woman had invited him into her flat and had kissed him and removed her own underwear and trousers.

He claimed they had consensual sexual intercourse and at no time did she say “no” or “stop”.

Green of Boyne Road, Bury St Edmunds, denied raping the woman in February 2022 and was found not guilty after a trial which started last week.

It was alleged that Green went to the woman's flat looking for her ex partner and had pushed his way in.
