LAS VEGAS — Coming off of an injury that forced him to miss last season, Elmarko Jackson hadn’t enjoyed much success through the early weeks of this season with Kansas basketball.

Jackson hadn’t missed any games, going into KU’s Players Era finale this past Wednesday against Tennessee in Las Vegas, but he wasn’t a featured member of the rotation. He had limited statistics. As coach Bill Self adjusted the starting lineup at times, with freshman guard Darryn Peterson unavailable, Jackson only started once — Nov. 11 against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.

But an 81-76 comeback win against Tennessee saw Jackson emerge for the first time, as he played a season-high of nearly 27 minutes off the bench. The redshirt sophomore guard finished with a career-high 17 points, 15 of them coming in the seco
