EAGLE COUNTY, Colo. (KKTV) - With another round of winter weather looming, Colorado State Patrol is warning drivers to stop treating snowy roads like they’re dry!

The warning comes after roughly 50 vehicles became snarled in two separate pileups in the mountains over the weekend.

"People are still used to driving on dry roads, and that has to change right now," CSP Sgt. Ivan Alvarado told 11 News sister station CBS Denver. "If you are driving the speed limit when it is snowing, you know you are driving too fast already."

State Patrol says the snow was steadily falling over I-70 and visibility had plummeted when the two huge pileups happened late Sunday morning. The first occurred at 11:30 a.m. just west of Gypsum involving around 20 cars and the second 15 minutes later just east of Glen
