GEAUGA COUNTY, Ohio (WOIO) - A Hambden Township firefighter who was severely injured when his Montville Township home exploded on Nov. 21 remains hospitalized in the ICU in serious condition.
Captain Tim Tobin was flown to MetroHealth Medical Center with severe burns.
Hambden Township Fire Chief Scott Hildenbrand said Captain Tobin’s daughter Savannah, who was also injured in the explosion, “is doing better and responding to treatment.”
Two dogs were inside the home at the fire of the fire. One was killed, the other has not been located.
Montville Township Fire Chief Ron Jonovich said firefighters were called to the home in the 15000 block of Hart Rd. around 2:40 p.m. on Nov. 21.
When crews arrived on scene, the home was completely engulfed in flames.
