New Bakery Warms Up Preston Center

Woeful lamentations echoed through town when the Starbucks in west Preston Center closed its doors in the summer of 2024. But as Alexander Graham Bell once said, “When one door closes, another one opens.” Fortunately, the door that opened in the space adjacent to that Starbucks is Village Baking Co., the bakery known for its French-style pastries, bread, coffee, and community-welcoming atmosphere.

The Preston Center outpost of the locally owned bakery opened August 20, a date I completely missed because I was in France, eating as many baguettes and croissants as I could before having to stop cold turkey upon my return to Dallas. It was a post in my community Facebook group that reminded me that the Preston Center location of Village Baking Co. was open.
