The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) Tuesday rejected Pakistan’s allegation that India was “delaying permission” for the use of its airspace to deliver humanitarian aid to cyclone-hit Sri Lanka , calling the claim “baseless” and “ridiculous”.
The MEA said Pakistan submitted an overflight request around 1 pm Monday that India cleared by 5.30 pm, a turnaround of just four hours. They added that all such requests are processed “expeditiously the same day”, dismissing Pakistani media reports of a denial as yet “another attempt of spreading anti-India misinformation”.
“We reject the ridiculous statement made by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan which is yet another attempt of spreading anti-India misinformation,” MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said in a statement.
