Chapin Christian Community Church, an official Wreaths Across America (WAA) location, will host its second annual community wreath-laying ceremony on Dec. 13. The event, sponsored by Chapin American Legion Post 193, will join more than 4,900 locations nationwide for National Wreaths Across America Day.

In an effort coordinated and led by local volunteers, sponsorship groups have raised funds throughout the year to sponsor the placement of more than 700 wreaths on the headstones of fallen service members laid to rest in 13 cemeteries across the Chapin area.

Col. Brian Pipkin, commander of the 59th Aviation Troop Command, will join the ceremony as a guest speaker. Veterans, active-duty service members, families and community members are welcome to attend.
