Hospital association says Indiana health care becoming more affordable

Four national studies show Hoosier hospitals are becoming more affordable, the Indiana Hospital Association announced Monday.

The results are a significant contrast to the RAND 2.0 report that found health care in Indiana to be the most expensive in the country. The RAND 5.1 report, conducted five years later, showed hospital pricing in the state now ranks ninth.

“While the Indiana Hospital Association has raised concerns about RAND’s methodology, the consistent improvement across reports points to meaningful progress,” the news release said.

The association’s mission is to “provide Indiana hospitals with leadership, representation and support to improve the health of all Hoosiers,” according to its website.
