Here is a recap of the Fountain Inn City Council meeting on Dec. 1.
Initial approval: Fire engine acquisition
Council gave initial approval to an ordinance to pursue acquiring lease purchase financing for a 2025 side-mount fire engine.
If approved, this item will be used as the new frontline engine at fire department headquarters and the 2012 engine, which is presently this location’s frontline engine, will be moved to the city’s Station #2.
The city’s financial advisors will issue a request for proposals to banks in December, with bids due in early January 2026. The city is anticipated to close on the funds in late January 2026 and receive the fire engine shortly thereafter.
The purchase price for the new engine is $885,750, and a portion of it should be covered by the new fire impac
