STOCKTON, Calif. —
Community organizers and nonprofits are working to support the victims of a mass shooting at a children's birthday party in Stockton on Saturday, where 4 people were killed and 11 were injured.
"People need to be connected to mental health services. People need to be connected to the funds in order to help bury their loved ones or to get the proper medical care. So, all of those things take coordination and people working together," said Nuri Muhammad, a longtime community activist in Stockton.
Muhammad said right now the community is trying to create a coalition of groups to properly help those in need.
The Amelia Ann Adams Whole Life Center is playing a large role in those efforts, along with Stockton's Office of Violence Prevention.
