DETROIT -- Veteran right-handed reliever John Brebbia, who spent part of 2025 with the Detroit Tigers, signed a minor-league contract with the Colorado Rockies this week.

Brebbia, 35, signed a one-year, $2.75 million deal with the Tigers before the 2025 season. He posted a 1.00 ERA with nine strikeouts in nine innings before suffering a right triceps strain in late April . After returning on May 11 , he allowed 16 runs on 19 hits in 9 2/3 innings and was DFA’d on June 15 .

Brebbia signed a minor-league deal with the Braves following his release and pitched well at Triple-A Gwinnett before getting a late-season call-up.

A 30th-round pick by the Yankees in 2011 out of Elon University, Brebbia later pitched in the Diamondbacks system before joining the Cardinals in the 2015 Rul
