Fans of the Netflix smash hit "Stranger Things" will get a chance to say goodbye to Hawkins on the big screen.
More than 500 movie theaters across the United States and Canada will show the series finale on New Year's Eve.
The final episode of Season 5, titled "The Rightside Up," will premiere in theaters at 8 p.m. Eastern time on Wednesday, Dec. 31, matching its global debut on Netflix. Screenings will continue through Thursday, Jan. 1, giving fans a two-day window to catch the epic conclusion on the big screen.
Major chains like Cinemark, Regal, and NCG are participating, with AMC theaters also expected to join. Tickets went on sale starting Tuesday, Dec. 2, and are available through theater websites and platforms like Fandango and Atom Tickets.
To help fans find a participating location, Netflix launched a dedicated website, ST5Finale.com, where users can search for theaters in their area.
The finale is set to run just over two hours, making it a proper movie-length sendoff for the beloved sci-fi series.
“We’re beyond excited that fans will have the chance to experience the final episode of Stranger Things in theaters — it’s something we’ve dreamed about for years,” show creators Matt and Ross Duffer said in a statement.
This marks the first time a Netflix original series finale will be released in theaters alongside its streaming debut, giving fans a unique way to ring in the new year together.
With anticipation running high, tickets are expected to sell quickly as fans prepare for one last trip to the Upside Down.
