FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - Leaders with Fort Wayne Community Schools (FWCS) shared a statement Tuesday morning regarding district cancellations and delays.
Recently, many parents have raised concerns about the district’s policies when it comes to delay and cancellation decisions.
On Tuesday morning, FWCS Communications Manager Scott Murray shared the following statement:
The Fort Wayne Community Schools transportation team begins monitoring road conditions across the district at 4 a.m., assessing a variety of locations. Based on all information gathered, a recommendation regarding delays or cancellations is made by 5 a.m. We recognize that conditions can vary across the community. Parents who feel it is not safe for their child to travel to school may choose to keep them home and report
