CLEVELAND, Ohio — Northeast Ohioans stepped outside Tuesday morning to a fresh blanket of snow as a winter storm swept through the region.
The system made for a messy commute and led to widespread school closures , leaving behind roughly 2 to 4 inches of accumulation across much of the area, according to early National Weather Service reports .
The highest early total came from Cleveland’s Kamms Corner neighborhood, where 4 inches was measured around 7:30 a.m. Close behind was Richmond Heights at 3.9 inches.
A broad swath of communities across Cuyahoga, Lorain, Lake, Geauga, Summit, Medina and Portage counties reported between 3 and 3.5 inches. Those included North Ridgeville, Russell Center and Chardon at 3.5 inches, and University Heights and Strongsville at 3.4.
