DOUGLAS COUNTY, Colo. (KKTV) - An electric vehicle was rendered a charred skeleton after it was torched in a garage fire Monday afternoon.

Crews found the vehicle on fire when responding to a reported structure fire in a Parker neighborhood:

Smoke was pouring out of the garage windows when firefighters reached the scene. It had not yet spread to the rest of the home:

Firefighters removed the car from the garage, still engulfed in flames. It was then covered with a fire blanket and towed from the scene, with a fire truck following behind:

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, and it’s unclear if the flames spread to the vehicle or if the fire first ignited in the car.
