DEDHAM — Brian Walshe has already admitted that he moved his wife’s corpse and then lied to investigators about it. Now, three years after Ana Walshe vanished, it will be up to a jury to decide whether he murdered her.

Opening statements in his trial begin Monday, followed by what’s expected to be about three weeks’ worth of testimony in Norfolk Superior Court involving allegations that Walshe killed his wife after a New Year’s party in January 2023, cut her up, and disposed of her body. Prosecutors seek to prove a charge of first-degree murder against the 50-year-old Cohasset man; if he’s convicted, he would face a sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole.
