A family have spoken of their devastation after their toy poodle was mauled to death by an XL Bully in a Midlands street.

Adam Ellis was walking dog Lambert close to his home when the XL Bully leaped over a fence and grabbed his pet poodle.

The 47-year-old kicked and hit the bully before he was dragged off his feet and into the road by the dog.

He suffered cuts and bruises as he struggled with the dog but was unable to save Lambert.

His wife Kathryn said she was horrified when she saw her husband return home with dead Lambert in his arms, soaked in blood.
