An investigation is underway in Miami after a shooting Tuesday morning that involved an off-duty U.S. Customs and Border Protection officer, according to the City of Miami Police Department .
Miami police said they received a call about a suspicious person in the area of NE 7th Avenue and 71st Street. Soon after, police said they received several calls about shots being fired in the area.
"On Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at approximately 5:35 a.m., a U.S. Customs and Border Protection officer was involved in an off-duty shooting with one individual," a CBP spokesperson wrote in an email to CBS News Miami. "No injuries were reported."
The spokesperson said that the City of Miami Police Department and CBP's Office of Professional Responsibility responded to the scene.
